MW Trade Marks are a team of specialist attorneys and support staff experienced in the protection and maintenance of trade mark and design portfolios. We are a small but expanding practice with offices in the attractive location of Lamb’s Conduit Street in Holborn, Central London and in Ipswich, Suffolk. We can provide advice on all aspects of trade mark protection and related issues, including design rights and internet matters.

We have grown into a team that is large and experienced enough to meet the requirements of clients in this complex area of law, whilst still providing a customised service for our clients’ individual needs.

Jon Wyness, (BSc (Hons), MSc, MITMA), Senior Partner and Registered Trade Mark Attorney, is elected to Council of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and serves on three committees. He is also a committee member of the International Trade Mark Association where he contributes articles on trade mark developments in Europe. Jon has worked as in-house trade mark counsel for an international luxury goods group for over 10 years, and as a Senior Trade Mark attorney for the largest international law firm offering trade mark services to some of the leading brand-owning companies in the world. Jon is able to offer commercially orientated advice and practical solutions to trade mark problems in Europe and beyond. Jon is also an examiner and a lecturer in trade marks.

Anne Wong

Anne Wong, (BA (Hons), FITMA), Senior Registered UK and European Trade Mark Attorney, was a Partner for 12 years at a London trade mark and patent practice and has been qualified for 20 years. Anne was a member of the Council of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys for over 10 years. She served on several Committees and chaired the Education & Training Committee, the Formalities/Trade Mark Administrators Committee and the Joint Examination Board. She has been an examiner, lecturer and tutor in trade marks. Anne qualified as a trade mark attorney winning the Elizabeth Bennett Memorial Award for best joint performance in the 1989 UK Trade Mark Law and Practice Final Examinations. Much of Anne’s work is focused on trade mark and domain name conflicts

David Kemp

David Kemp, (LLB (Hons), PgDip (Legal Practice)) is a near-qualified Trade Mark Attorney. He previously worked in the trade marks department of a London city law firm and has been practising for 10 years. David advises on all aspects of UK, CTM and International trade mark law and practice. His work ranges from clearing brands and trade mark prosecution work through to drafting evidence and submissions in contentious trade mark oppositions. David has considerable experience of managing large international trade mark portfolios for major worldwide brands and also brand portfolios for smaller businesses. David's previous experience includes acting for the brand owners of well known trade marks such as WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE? and YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT, VIRGIN and JETIX.
